Roadtrip from Texas to Illinois...to Wisconsin and back to Texas!

Thankfully the driving of this road trip was not done by Jon and I. My parents were so sweet to come to Illinois for a visit. They brought my nephews, Chasen and Cameron with them which was lots of fun for my kids.

They were only here for 5 days but we filled each day with fun! We had a great time at our house here in Chicago: Family pictures (fun for everyone except Ben who cried in between every pose), going to the pool, Jacob's Baseball Game, seeing Wall-E and many other things.

After 2 short days at home we loaded up the cars and headed for Wisconsin. 5 kids, 1 dog, 4 adults and a huge canoe on top of my Tahoe! Aren't road trips fun? Thankfully it is only a 3 1/2 hour drive to the lake.

Our family loves going to the lake and we knew that it would be the perfect place for my parents and nephews. We kept busy with fishing, canoeing, swimming, boating and innertubing. Jacob got over his fear of the innertube and my new nickname for him is "Captain Insane". Jon tried wakeboarding for the 1st time and loved it!

After lots of fun and 2 evenings of making Smore's at the firepit it was time for our Texas loved ones to head home. We miss them and are so thankful that they drove such a long distance to see us.
