What we've been doing...

It is definetly Summertime here @ the Iverson house! Everyone in the family has been sleeping in - even the dog! Staying up late and eating daily popsicles has become the norm. WE LOVE SUMMER! It is a blessing to have all the kids home together...to not have to rush out anywhere...and to just be a bit more relaxed than usual (yes, an OCDish person can relax). :) The only thing I'm sad about is how quickly summer is going by. It is one hour away from being July and time is not slowing down.

Here's a recap of what we've been up to (pictures will follow - just not tonight):

*I now have a 4th grader, 2nd grader and preschooler

*Vacation to Cali: Lots of fun family days...Resolved, Dodger Game, Beach, Hollywood (for Jessi & Karli), In N' Out (3times), an Almost Surprise Baby Shower for Ami...and many more fun things...

* Jacob took Golf Lessons & Loved it.

*Karli took a Cheerleading class ~ she's cute!

*Jacob in Baseball and Karli in Softball - both doing great!

*Ben is still taking his gymnastics class and just has fun following the big kids around. :)

*Spending the 4th of July in Wisconsin with my family - looking forward to seeing them all!

WHEW...I know that everyone's life is so busy...it's good to slow down and think about it all and make sure that we (I'm speaking to myself - ME) are thankful for all we have and are able to do. God is so good to us ~ in Big things and in the Small. Another thing we are doing this summer is encouraging our children to spend time reading scripture and praying to the Lord each day. Above all else, that is what we want them to remember from Summer '09.

Smile - It's Summertime!

Today my little Ben finished his 1st year of preschool. When I walked him into his classroom 8 months ago he was a shy little 3 year old...not sure if he wanted to be away from Mommy (actually, he was positive that he didn't want to be away from me!). We are so thankful for 2 wonderful & caring teachers who loved Ben and made his first school experience a good one. Ben (or Bennie - which is what he told his teachers to call him) learned so much more than I expected and he has matured throughout the year. This is all good...except it means that MY BABY is growing up. I sat at his "graduation" with a few tears in my eyes...remembering his birth and all of his milestones...then I realized that it is only preschool and he does have another full year until Kindergarten. So, I decided to wipe the tears and celebrate this fun day with my little sweetie. We had fun saying good-bye to his teachers and friends and the best part of the day for Ben was getting to eat a Popsicle on the playground. It was a good day!

Guess who doesn't mind having Daddy home recovering? Ben loves his Daddy and has been spending lots of time with him while Jon's been home this past month.

BEN + BOX + MAGAZINE = HAPPY FACE

Ben loves boxes! He uses them as boats, dog houses for his stuffed animals, puts them on his back like a turtle...and many more fun things. A few minutes ago I walked in and saw him sitting in the "new box" (thanks to a Costco trip today). He was so happy sitting in the box reading Daddy's "Off Roading" Magazine.

My Man Of Steel (Literally)

There is so much I could say about the events of this week. A lesson we were reminded of is that God is faithful in all things - Big and Small. Jon broke his ankle on Monday night, Ben had a double ear infection and even the dog had issues - Pink eye! Although the Iverson household seemed chaotic, we had peace. God knew all of these things and He provided everything we needed to sustain us this week.

Here are a few thoughts about God's goodness to us this week:

*The surgery was successful and Jon remained stable

throughout and is recovering well (thanks to the Vicadin).

*My Parents-in-law were so kind to reschedule their flight so that they could be here to help with our kids today. Dawn came with me to the hospital to keep me company

during the surgery.

*We had the priveledge of experiencing love from so many friends & family. What a blessing to know that believers are praying for you.

Please continue to pray for Jon as he is beginning the recovery process.

*For minimal pain

*For no infection

*For complete restoration of the ankle
